Brandon Rainey

Senior Counsel

Brandon Rainey is a litigator who handles high-stakes disputes for clients in the technology, financial services, infrastructure, and manufacturing industries.  Prior to joining Curley, Hurtgen & Johnsrud LLP in 2021, Mr. Rainey practiced complex commercial litigation at international law firms, where he managed matters ranging from nascent pre-lawsuit investigations through trials and appeals in state and federal courts across the country.  Mr. Rainey’s practice currently focuses on defending employers in cases involving all types of employment-related claims, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, defamation, breach of contract, and misappropriation of trade secrets. 

Mr. Rainey earned his undergraduate degree from UCLA in 2007 and his law degree from Notre Dame Law School in 2010, where he was an Executive Editor of the Journal of Legislation.  He has been repeatedly selected as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers (awarded to the top 2.5% of young attorneys in California), served on the Board of Directors of the California Young Lawyers Association, and held other professional leadership positions.  Before joining Curley, Hurtgen & Johnsrud LLP, Mr. Rainey practiced at Baker McKenzie LLP, Hogan Lovells US, and a prominent litigation boutique law firm. 

Mr. Rainey lives in Danville with his wife and two young children.  He enjoys playing recreational soccer, coaching youth soccer and baseball, obsessively following UCLA and Notre Dame sports, playing with his kids, and putting hot sauce on everything.
